Mid Autumn Festival is celebrated by Chinese, Vietnamese and others from all over South East Asia. The festivals go back over 3,000 years to moon worship during the Shang Dynasty.

The first use of the name Zhongqiu Jie (Mid Autumn Festival) occurred at the time of the Zhou Dynasty. Other regions may celebrate Lantern, Moon or Mooncake Festivals.
